Top Gun Gooses (Anthony Edwards) Damaged Helmet Visor Cover

An original “Goose” (Anthony Edwards) Damaged Helmet Visor Cover used in the 1986 Tony Scott film, Top Gun. This distressed visor cover was created specifically for shots of Goose lying in the water after crashing into his jet’s canopy cover during ejection, in one of the film’s most memorable scenes. The visor cover was distressed by cutting several sections from the piece, and scratching and distressing the surface. As it was only needed for a single sequence, it was likely installed on one of the “standard” Goose flight helmets for this purpose only, and later removed. The visor cover also features the memorable striping and insignia pattern that was created specifically for the film. Even with the “G” missing from “Goose”, the piece is immediately recognizable. The striping pattern on Goose’s helmet in the film is the same as Maverick’s helmet, with a reversed color pattern. This piece was obtained from a crew member who worked on the film and was able to keep it as a memento. The interior is labeled “Top Gun Goose – Red w/ 242″. The piece can also be screen matched to the helmet worn by Goose as he lays in the water following the accident. Material from this highly regarded film is extremely scarce in the collector’s marketplace, and main character material is even more rare. The piece is presented on a custom-made display stand featuring an illuminating base with the film”s logo applied.’,
