Simon Phoenix Costume & SAPD Uniform

Simon Phoenix”s Costume – These clothes were worn on screen by Wesley Snipes as “Simon Phoenix”. They can be seen toward the end of the film when John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone), Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) and Alfredo Garcia (Benjamin Bratt) go underground to apprehend Simon. The upper body armor is made from pieces of foam that look like rubber tires which are sewn together. Handwritten on the underside is “Phoenix # 1”. The pants are olive green ski pants with a bib/hi-top and suspenders, made by Belfe & Belfe. Handwritten on the inside tag is the name “Mr. Snipes”. The belt is made from a strip of tire and the side pieces are made of foam rubber. The wrist bands were added to the costume for display and were actulay used by another actor in the film. They are wide strips of brown leather with small pieces of tire attached with silver tack buttons. Handwritten on the inside of the wrist bands are a series of numbers and the name “Sandy Berumen”, who was a stunt woman on the set during production. S.A.P.D. Uniform – This police uniform was worn on screen by one of the San Angeles Police Officers. This style uniform can be seen through out the film and consists of four pieces. The jacket is navy blue, is waist length, has an “S.A.P.D.” pin on the left collar and a metal badge on the left chest. The shirt is a long sleeved navy blue shirt with “S.A.P.D” embroidered on the left chest as well as a police patch sewn underneath. Handwritten on the back inside collar is “#8”. The pants are navy blue equestrian style pants with laces on the bottom. The jacket, shirt and pants all have a Warner Bros. inventory sticker on the inside with its own identification number. The hat is also navy blue with “S.A.P.D” embroidered on the front in green thread, size large. Handwritten on the underside are the numbers “235297” and “WB”
