RUSH – Oversized RV Mirror

A prop rear-view mirror used in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title. This oversized mirror would have been made for use at one of the many races throughout the championship season to allow for rear-view shots reflected through a car wing mirror to be filmed effectively. The mirror itself has been attached to wooden backing with black rubber edging, which has been secured using black tape. A wooden block has been screwed to the back of the mirror which would have secured it in place during filming. There is a small tear in the rubber rim of the mirror, but this item otherwise remains in good production-used condition. The mirror measures approximately 24 x 14cm (9.5 x 5.5”). This prop is an original asset used in the production of the 2013 film RUSH. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
