RUSH – James Hunt’s (Chris Hemsworth) Apology Letter to Niki, Pens and Cups

A collection of letter writing props used in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title. This collection of items can be seen as James Hunt attempts to write a letter of apology to Niki Lauda after his life-threatening crash for which Hunt feels partially responsible. The collection of items comprises of three notepads, two fountain pens and a cup and saucer. One of the notepads features the handwritten note to Niki which has then been scribbled out. This collection remains in very good production-used condition, with the largest notepad measuring approximately 20 x 13cm (8 x 5.5”), the longest pen measuring approximately 14cm (5.5”) in length, and the cup measuring approximately 11.5 x 8.5cm (4.5 x 3.25”) and the saucer measuring approximately 14 x 14cm (5.5 x 5.5”). This prop is an original asset used in the production of the 2013 film RUSH. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
