Original Parker Puppet From The Film Thunderbirds Are Go!

An Original Parker Puppet From The Film ‘Thunderbirds Are Go!’, 1965, wearing a chauffeur suit with jacket, striped trousers, black shoes and peaked cap, display stand with overwritten inscription Best wishes To my friend your old mate Parker David Graham height 53cm (21in.) David Graham, an experienced theatrical performer, was first approached by Gerry Anderson whilst working on a television film that demonstrated clearly the full range of his vocal abilities. Working first on various Anderson productions such as ‘Supercar` and Stingray’ he eventually developed a multiplicity of voices for ‘Thunderbirds`, but became best known for his rendition of the cockney chauffeur Parker. The actual persona of Parker was a caricature of a real waiter the Andersons encountered regularly whilst lunching at a country pub in Berkshire, Aloysius ‘Nosey’ Parker is the loyal butler and chauffeur who is reputed to be the best safe-breaker in the world. Through Lady Penelope’s charm Parker is transformed from petty thief to loyal servant, whose mastery of mechanical gadgetry proves invaluable in many a risky mission. £15,000-18,00
