Mars armored train, train station pylons and train concept drawing from Ghosts of Mars

(Sony, 2001) For the film Ghosts of Mars, director John Carpenter wanted a wild west style train with a futuristic twist. This miniature train was pulled by a computer controlled cable winch and shot with high speed cameras to appear throughout the film. It is a one-off, hand fabricated model made from Sintra plastic, aluminum and resin details. It featured a custom neon front grill light, interior cab lights, headlights and a motorized fan to blow exhaust smoke. The cars are made of custom epoxy fiberglass body parts with resin details. Both the locomotive and the cars ride on urethane roller bearing wheels. Includes textured MDF track sections and train station pylons used in the film. Built in 1:16 scale, the “miniature” train measures a full 192 in. long x 13 in. tall. Includes an original concept drawing of the armored train accomplished in pencil on an 8 ½ in. x 11 in. leaf of artist’s vellum by New Deal Studios cofounder, Ian Hunter. Special shipping arrangements will apply. Start Price : 6,000.00 | Estimated : 6,000.00 – 8,000.00
