John Belushi signature black suit - The Blues Brothers

(Universal, 1980) John Belushi’s signature black wool-blend single-breasted suit jacket with matching pants, custom made for his legendary role as “Jake Blues” opposite Dan Aykroyd in this comedy classic. Each piece with internal bias labels handwritten in black ink “Belushi” (inside jacket pocket) and “Belushi 48-28” (pants). Comes with a letter of authenticity from Ken Adachi, the film’s assistant property master who worked closely with both Belushi and Aykroyd throughout the production, and was familiar with all of the key costumes and props the actors used throughout the film. As many of the costumes were either partially damaged or completely destroyed during the filming of the various car chases and action sequences, this intact suit is exceptionally rare and may be the only one to have survived. A signature costume from John Belushi’s greatest comedy role, and the film for which he is best remembered. Estimate $25,000 – $35,000
