Henry Wilcoxon shield Cecil B. De Mille Cleopatra

Henry Wilcoxon “Marc Antony” shield used in Cecil B. De Mille”s Cleopatra. (Paramount, 1934) Actor/Producer Henry Wilcoxon took his shield home as a personal souvenir when Cleopatra completed principal photography in April 1934. Prominently displayed in the war between Egypt and Rome, the shield has two shortsword piercings that occurred as Wilcoxon was fighting a stuntman in close-up, resulting in a loss of part of the little finger of his left hand. This hero prop is made of polished copper and still retains its original straps. Cleopatra won Best Cinematograpy 1934. From the estate of Henry Wilcoxon. $1,000 – $1,500
