Full-scale Egyptian chariot - The Ten Commandments

Full-scale Egyptian chariot from The Ten Commandments. (Paramount, 1956) This beautiful piece measures 123 in. long and 57 in. wide. For strength and durability, the vast majority of the chariot is constructed of steel, including the frame, red body panels, six-spoke wheels, axle and rigging to attach to the horses. The open areas to the left and right of the driver are woven with hemp rope. Egyptian style elements are prevalent throughout, lotus motif fitments on the spokes, pair of gold metal outfacing cobra heads on the yoke, as well as the gold lotus designs where the axle meets the wheels. This chariot appears to have been repainted since its use in The Ten Commandments, and the wooden footboard is in need of restoration; otherwise, in very good condition. $8,000 – $10,000
