Emerald City townsmans jacket from The Wizard of Oz

(Warner Bros., 1953) Featuring glass eyes and real human hair, this head of Vincent Price in character as “Professor Jared” was created at the Hollywood Wax Museum for the film production, and was later displayed there during the 1960s. During a remodel of the Classic Movie Monsters section by effects artist Tom Flouts, the display was given a new head and this piece was given to Flouts as a keepsake. Not only was this the very first film in 3-D produced by a major studio, but it was also Vincent Price’s very first horror film! A very important piece of horror film history. Comes with a letter of provenance from a recent caretaker of the piece, describing it’s history of ownership. Estimate $2,000 – $3,000
