Daffy Mogwai Unfinished Roly-Poly Bodyform

Daffy”s unfinished “Roly Poly” Mogwai body used in the 1990 sequel Gremins 2: The New Batch. The cute mogwais seen in the movie were created using several mediums, from huge scale human body suits, to tiny life-size ones, and this particular body was made for the crazyiest member of the newest band of Mogwais. The interesting piece was created for a shot where the bonkers little guy was meant to roll from his front to his back without any puppeteer assistance, perhaps when getting wet or having a tantrum, when they needed to see the whole puppet”s body roll. The internal body is made of a thick hard foam and bean filled bags that are weighted in such a way that when placed on his back is unbalanced and naturally flips to 180 degrees. The body suit is made from orange and white faux fur with poppers at the back to fasten it over the body, and has a set of unfinished hands and feet that were never painted and thus still in excellent condition. It”s a great example of the ingenious methods Rick Baker and his team came up with to create the amazing creatures in the movie. The full puppet measures 30cm x 20cm (12” x 8”)
