Alien Queen movie prop full-scale articulated arm from Aliens

Alien Queen movie prop full-scale articulated arm from Aliens (TCF, 1986) This full-scale hand measures 48 in. in length and is mounted on a wooden base measuring 22 x 21 in. and on an upright wooden mount measuring 15 ½ x 12 in. The hand is based on an aluminum and steel armature, actuated by cables attached to pull rings to allow individual movement of the wrist and each of the fingers. The entire structure is encased in spandex covered with foam latex painted blue, black and green with long claws and detailed accents. There is some wear and deterioration at the top of the wrist due to age and production use. The latex on the hand was restored in 1995 by a special effects sculptor. This hand is seen in the film when the Alien Queen attempts to grab “Newt” in the hangar deck by pulling up the metal flooring to reach her. Over 20 years after its initial release, Aliens continues to thrill fans and was recently named by Entertainment Weekly magazine as “the best pure action movie ever.” Estimate $5,000 – $7,000
