744. James Gandolfini "Tony Soprano" bathrobe and tank top from The Sopranos. (HBO-TV, 1999-2007) This tan cotton bathrobe with lavender trim and embroidered letter "S" on the breast pocket was worn by the character "Tony Soprano" portrayed by actor James Gandolfini in the award-winning HBO series The Sopranos. Mr. Gandolfini wore the robe in the pilot episode during the scene where Tony gets the morning paper and then feeds the ducks in his swimming pool. In later episodes the character mainly wore a white terrycloth robe in morning sequences around the house, making this a unique signature item from the pilot. Also included in this lot is a white tank top and pair of blue boxer shorts that were worn by Mr. Gandolfini in a separate episode and was a recurring costume change which the actor wore in numerous morning/bedroom scenes throughout the series. The garments are in excellent condition and were part of Mr. Gandolfini's collection of Tony's wardrobe that he obtained after the end of production and accompanied by a letter of authenticity issued by James Gandolfini.
