Richard Hatch, star of the original Battlestar Galactica, took it upon himself to try and revive the classic series. He funded and produced a twenty-minute short film with an updated premise, new characters, and special effects done by Academy Award winning artists. In the film, the main kind of weapon is a long baton with a maroon cloth pattern woven over the surface. Futuristic markings are painted in the exposed areas, and a rubberized
three-pronged claw is surmounted on each end, out of which lasers were fired in the series. Only two of these weapons were made. As such, this is an important part of the Battlestar legacy, and will pre-date the new Battlestar Galactica series which is now in production. Measures 62 in.
Estimate $500 – $700
