This “antique Viper”, also called the “Model T Viper”, was used in the episode “The Long Patrol” as one of the “Sixth Millenium” ships encountered by Starbuck on the patrol. It was made by Universal-Hartland Special Effects Facility, and cast from of the original Viper molds. The model has two armature mounting points for the visual effects shots, one underneath, and one at the nose of the craft, made of threaded aluminum. A one-of-a-kind filming miniature, this was the predecessor to the Colonial Viper (as evidenced by it’s straight, horizontally fixed lower wings), and makes its appearance early in the episode. This miniature has never before been offered at public auction. Measures 15 in. long.
