811. Pair of vintage guard helmets from Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe. (Universal, 1940) Pair of rare guard helmets worn by the palace guards in the popular sci-fi serial, Flash Gordon Conquers the Universestarring Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon. Constructed of metal painted gold with faux rivets, a shell-like design on the crown and wool and felt internal padding. The helmets measure approx. 15 ½ in. tall x 9 ½ in. wide at the lower neck guard. They exhibit some loss of paint and scuffing but remain in remarkable condition. Wonderful artifacts from the Golden Age of sci-fi serials.
