Charlton Heston's Gold Robe from Ben-Hur. Ben-Hur's 11 Oscars included one for Best Color Costume Design (Elizabeth Haffenden). This is the first costume worn by Charlton Heston in his Oscar-winning performance as Ben-Hur -- a wheat-colored kaftan, with fine gold threading around the V-neck and with vertical gold stripes. Heston wore this kaftan in major scenes, including the one where the roof tile falls, nearly hitting Stephen Boyd's Messala, and resulting in Ben-Hur's slavery. Excellent overall condition, but the lining displays mild staining in underarm areas, upper back torso area, and along lining of cuffs
