627. Bill the Lizard puppet from Alice in Wonderland. (Lou Bunin Productions, 1949) Bill is one of three lizards that come to the rescue of White Rabbit. He and his friends help Alice get out of the Rabbit's house when she grows large inside it. Constructed of Bunin's own rubberized foam compound for the flexible skin over a special wrapped wire armature. This skin features a harder compound which may have conformed to the puppet's use for a static or low-action shot. The skin is sculpted with a scale-like texture, and the entire puppet is hand-painted and detailed. Measures 7 in. tall. Exhibits only minor cracking and wear; otherwise, remarkable condition for its age.
