A gun used by Moriarty’s guards in the Sean Connery action movie The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Weapons such as this can be seen being used by the villain Moriarty’s (Richard Roxburgh) guards throughout the movie against the league. This fantasy weapon is based around a typical AK-47, with a handmade long black metal box surrounding it to make it look more industrial and from a past age, each made individually for every single of these guns. A live firing weapon would have sat inside during filming of gunfire, and this particular weapon houses one of the rubber versions. It is a fairly heavy prop, which has sustained some battle damage from its used on set revealing grey metal beneath the flaking paint, the rubber insert is only slightly scuffed, and the brown leather carry strap is well weathered. Measures 93cm (36.5”).
