(Buena Vista, 1993) In one of the most memorable scenes in the film, “Santa” Jack’s sleigh is shot down by anti-aircraft fire above Christmastown. He tumbles out of the sky and lands in the arms of this angel statue holding an open book. Constructed of resin, realistically hand-painted and detailed to resemble weathered stone. This impressive piece measures 14 ½ in. tall x 9 in. wide at the wings. The right wing is detached but can easily be reattached. The arms are removable since they sequence was shot twice, once in extreme close-up for detail. Exhibits minor wear at the wing tips but does not detract from the overall appearance of the piece. From the vivid imagination of writer, director, producer and illustrator Tim Burton, the following 99 lots (1352-1450) represent his groundbreaking vision from his first short film, Vincent, through the critically acclaimed films The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach and Corpse Bride.
