Screen-used Oogie Boogie stop-motion puppet from The Nightmare Before Christmas. (Buena Vista, 1993) This is Oogie Boogie without his burlap sack skin covering showing the bug-encrusted body. During filming, each bug was wired for movement so that his entire body literally “crawled” with hundreds of tiny bugs that glowed under fluorescent light. This amazing puppet is one of the most intricate and laborious puppets to animate in the history of film! Posed on a custom-made display mimicking his pose just before he collapses into a mound of bugs. This amazing puppet measures 18 ½ in. tall and is mounted to a custom-made display.
