Prototype "feathery" pteranodon head from The Lost World: Jurassic Park II (Universal, 1997) Developed for a scene that was ultimately cut from the shooting script, this full sized, rather "bird-like" look for an adult Pteranodon was not developed beyond the prototype phase. A more reptilian look was ultimately adopted for the third film, where the character finally makes its appearance. A highly detailed piece finished to a screen-ready quality. Measures 60 in. tall x 62 in. long (tip of beak to back of horn).
