T-Rex maquette from Jurassic Park. (Universal, 1993) This fantastic 1/5-scale approval miniature was shown to director Steven Spielberg before work began on the full-scale T-Rex. Such scientific attention to accuracy and detail, as evidenced by this maquette, was necessary to create convincing, organic, animals and is why Stan Winston Studio landed the Jurassic Park job. Created from resin and dense urethane foam over a steel armature. Measures 84 in. long x 38 in. tall (on walnut base; stands 72 in. tall on accompanying custom pedestal). Without doubt, the most incredible maquette we have ever encountered.
