(Columbia, 1995) Pair of Parrish high-top athletic shoes, both the “before” and “after” versions, used in the scene where the young Alan Parrish absentmindedly places the sneaker on the conveyor belt, and it emerges shredded on the other side. This was David Alan Grier’s revolutionary design, which he says will be in “every home in America” if he can get Wilt Chamberlain to wear them! Accompanied with a Parrish Shoes shoebox, created for the opening scene of the film when the youngster runs into the Parrish Shoe company. Similar boxes can be seen outside the factory being loaded into a delivery vehicle.
