1139. Full-size "The Ghost" lion display and insert heads for "The Ghost" and "Darkness" from The Ghost and the Darkness. (Paramount, 1996) This impressive full-size Ghost lion from The Ghost and the Darkness and is constructed of silicone skin, yak fur, and horsetail hair to cover the head. The fur on the body is artificial and the paws are foam latex (no real lion parts were used in the character creations). The hero head mechanics are still in place, with only the cumbersome hydraulic body drive elements replaced with an anatomically correct form to retain the integrity of this full body display. Measures 90 in. long x 44 in. wide. In addition are the insert heads for both the "Ghost" and "Darkness" constructed of foam latex skin with hand-tied hair, flocked face, and some hand-punched areas. The teeth are softer urethane foam as the heads were used in attack sequences and needed to be actor-safe. The eyes are hand-painted and clear-coated, and the tongue and all parts associated were sculpted – never culled from real animals. They measure 20 in. long x 20 in. wide. $6,000 - $8,000
