A sewer rat made for the 1989 Steven Spielberg action movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This little rat was used when Indy and Elsa are in the Venetian sewers when they get set alight, and obviously there would have been ethical issues had they set alight to live rats! He’s made from plaster that has been moulded and painted in great detail with pale grey fur and pale belly, pink ears, nose and eyelids and even has lifelike glassy black eyes. Sadly plaster creations don’t tend to fare well, and over the years this piece has suffered some scuffs that reveal the white plaster beneath, the rear left rump has come away (but is still present) and the tips of his ears and legs are lost. Measures 26cm (10”) long.
