919. James Glover "Walter Donovan" ornate chalice from Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. (Paramount, 1989). A French gilt silver chalice with cover; makers mark AJ in a lozenge; the lobed domed base decorated with leaf and quatrefoil motifs, supporting the faceted stem with central knop, the circular bowl with applied leaf, scroll and quatrefoil motifs, with a conforming cover, the cover, knop and foot later mounted with green glass stones. This ornate chalice features in one of the film's most memorable sequences, James Glover "Walter Donavan" drinks from this bejeweled cup hoping to bestowed with eternal life, and instead ages rapidly, turning into a withered corpse. With a TLS of provenance from Mark Farley of Farley Classical & Contemporary Art Hire Ltd. letterhead. Measures 9 ¼ tall, 6 in. base diameter.
