Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, 1989
A prop chalice, the clay cup painted in gilt and red and applied with plaster and mud to simulate distress -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high -- made for the 1989 Lucasfilm production Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade; accompanied by three documents concerning the provenance; and two corresponding colour stills (printed later), both -- 11x8½in. (28x21cm.) (6)
According to the accompanying documentation, this clay chalice was one of approximately 8 made for the film. Similar cups were made in resin for distance and stunt shots but these clay chalices were made for close-up shots. The cup in this lot was originally obtained from one of the Special Effects crew who worked on the film.
